Federico has more than 16 years of experience and has focused his practice in projects, disputes and business law for the oil & gas, energy, infrastructure, real-estate, utilities and other regulated industries. He has specific experience structuring and implementing transactions, day-to-day matters and resolving commercial disputes – both domestic and cross-border.
Federico has been a member of highly-reputed domestic and international law firms in Bogotá and New York City, and has taken various positions as in-house counsel in the oil and gas industry (for the upstream, midstream and field operation business activities), and has represented a wide variety of domestic, multinational, multilateral and semi-governmental companies in a wide variety of matters, including mergers & acquisitions, securities offerings (including Rule 144a and Reg S), real estate, corporate financings and restructurings, green- and brown-field project financings, divestitures, domestic arbitration and court litigation. He has a solid academic background in both civil and common law traditions. He has a graduate degree in Administrative Law and an LL.M in Corporations Law from the School of Law of NY. Federico has been professor of Civil Law Obligations I, Property Law and Commercial Law for the Universidad del Rosario. Further to that, he is a member of the panel of arbitrators of the arbitration center of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce in the areas of Energy and Commercial law.
